Elephant kills milk vendor near Viraliyur

Coimbatore : A 34-year-old man was killed by an elephant, while going home on the outskirts in the wee hours of Wednesday.

According to forest department sources, Suresh, a milk vendor from Viraliyur, was returning home around 2 am on his two-wheeler,

when a rogue elephant blocked his way and attacked him.

Hearing the elephant’s trumpet, forest guards on the rounds rushed to the spot and found Suresh lying in a pool of blood, with severe injuries, they said.

The guards immediately requisitioned ambulance to rush him to the Government Hospital, but he died on way to hospital.
