A two-day national conference on empowering persons with visual impairment for quality livelihood through education and adapted physical education began at the Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya here today.
Organised by the Faculty of Disability Management and Special Education (FDMSE) and Faculty of General and Adapted Physical Education and Yoga (GAPEY) of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda University (RKMVU), it was inaugurated by Swami Abhiramananda, Administrative Head, RKMVU.
In his address, the chief guest, Sri Bhushan Punani, Executive Secretary, Blind People’s Association, Ahmedabad said, “the conference theme reflects the process of imparting education including physical education that encourages people with visual impairment to plan their livelihood that, in turn, would lead to their empowerment.”
Several research scholars would present papers during the two-day meet.
