Engineering college girl kidnapped in Salem

A first-year girl student of an engineering college was kidnapped by a gang of unidentified persons in Salem. The girl, 18, with her mother was waiting for the college bus when the gang came in a car, pushed the mother away and pulled the student into the vehicle and fled.
The girl was studying in a private college in Namakkal, some 30 km from Salem. Attempts by some motorcyclists to nab the abductors failed, police said. Based on the complaint by the girl’s mother, Annadanapatti police have registered a case and investigation is on.
