According to police, Chinnapayyan, who was returning home around 10 p.m. yesterday, did not notice an elephant standing in front of him due to darkness.

When Chinnapayyan tried to escape, the elephant pulled him with its trunk and hurled him. Chinnapayyan fell at a distance of 20 feet, resulting in multiple injuries. Noticing this, other workers drove away the elephant and rushed him to the government hospital, where he died past midnight.
