Estranged from wife, man commits suicide

A 46-year-old man, who was reportedly estranged from his wife, committed suicide by consuming poison at his residence near Madhampatty here on Wednesday.
According to sources, the deceased, M. Varadharajan was working for daily wages near Thanneer Pandal in Madhampatty.
Being an alcoholic, Varadharajan had reportedly quarrelled with his wife V. Mageswari (36) five years ago and from then on the couple had been separated. A divorce case is pending with the family court.
Frustrated with the separation, Varadharajan had reportedly consumed poison. He is survived by his wife, daughter V. Nithyalakshmi (19) and son V. Nithin (4). A case has been registered with the Perur subdivision police and they are investigating the case.
