The family members of cops in Pollachi sub-division met the West Zone Inspector General of Police, K. Shankar, and appealed to him to reconsider the mass transfer orders that were issued recently.

Nearly 120 policemen who were serving in the same area were given transfer orders, following a directive from the Election Commission. The family members of these police personnel came in two vans and met the IGP and submitted a memorandum explaining the difficulties that the mid-academic year transfers will subject them to.

They have requested the IGP to reconsider the transfers.
