Farmers come on bicycle to Collectorate against bus fare hike, petrol price

Coimbatore: A group of farmers, affiliated to Tamil Nadu Farmers’ Association (TFA) of the CPI, today arrived at the district Collectorate on cycles to submit a memorandum seeking reduction of bus fare and petrol and diesel prices.

Led by TFA district president S Palanisamy, the farmers in their petition demanded that the prices of diesel and petrol should be brought down and also total rollback of bus fare hike.

They also put forward the problem being faced by them, like loss of maize crop,which was destroyed by birds and parrots at the early stage and urged the district administration to provide adequate compensation.
