A three-and-a-half feet long sand boa, lying in the middle of the road in the city, was rescued by a voluntary organisation and handed over to the Forest Department today.
Ramesh, who was going to office in the morning, noticed the boa lying on the road unable to move, and alerted the ‘Save Our Snakes,’ an NGO.
A rescuer from the organisation rushed to the area and carefully took away the snake and handed it over to the Forest Department.
According to Department sources, the boa was fatigued and was not able to cross the tar road to move to mud-covered area, where it was normally found.
The Department will retain the sand boa in its premises.
