A five-year-old boy studying in a private school near Siddhapudhur here was reportedly beaten up by his teacher for spilling food.

According to M. Mahendran, father of Kishore, studying UKG in Rani Mary School in Siddhapudhur, his son was continuously crying on Monday night. “When we asked him he said he was beaten up by his teacher with a stick for spilling food in the bag of another student. We could see the scars in his left thigh,” Mahendran said.

“Even last week the teacher tied him with a rope with the table for spilling water. We complained to the school administration and they promised of action. But it is being repeated. Now they have promised that they will take action against the teacher and such incidents will not happen again,” Mahendran, an auto driver, added.

“We might have to complain with the district administration if this recurs,” Mahendran said.
