Flash strike hits bus commuters in City

Commuters were put to lot of hardship on Sunday morning when a section of the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation workers went on a flash strike in support of retired employees.
As a mark of solidarity with retired staff seeking implementation of the old pension scheme, the staff sat in front of the depot offices. As a result nearly 100 bus services could not be operated. Senior officials were in discussions with the protesting staff, officials said.
