Three entrepreneurs – R. Vijay, Vignesh Rengasamy, and Rajesh Sankarappan won the Coimbatore Management Association’s (CMA) award for best start-up. They are former students of the PSG College of Technology this institution, and the co-founders of the Helpr app.

The Helpr app enables users to book household service like cleaning, pest control, electrical repairs, carpentry, and plumbing, among others. Depending on the nature of services chosen, the team at Helpr sends its professionals to the user’s location.

The app offers users on-schedule services, and transparent pricing, and has over 22,000 in-house service professionals. Helpr app is available for the Android and Apple platforms.

The co-founders of the app have been creating innovative products for the smartphones since 2009. The team began their start-up journey by working for MyCityWay (an urban navigational app), which had secured $5 million in funding from BMWi Ventures, and have now become the official mobility services partners for the fully-electric BMWi cars.

In 2012, the team became a part of the founding team at Hubbl, a pioneer native advertising platform, which was acquired by Airpush for $15 million in 2013.

This year, the three entrepreneurs received the award at the Management Day function organized by the CMA. Each year, as part of the Management Day celebrations, the institution gives the CMA awards to deserving professionals in categories like Best Entrepreneur, Best SME Entrepreneur, Best Start-up, Best Woman Entrepreneur, Best Manager, Best Management Teacher, Best Faculty Guide, and Best Student Project.
