Coimbatore : In order to promote tourism in the hilly area of Valparai in the district, Municipal
Administration Minister, S P Velumani today laid foundation stone for a botanical garden and boat house.
Velumani also laid foundation for 112 apartments for the benefit of poor and needy in the area, an official release said.
By opening the rs.five crore botanical gardens and Rs.two crore boat house, the tourist footfall will considerably increase in the area, which would in turn create more job opportunities thus uplifting the economy of the people living in remote Valparai, Velumani said.
