A free eye camp was organised by Lotus Eye Hospital and Pasumai Pharmacy at PN Pudur, in which 30 people from the 30 to 60 age group were benefitted. The camp was organised as a part of the seventh anniversary celebrations of the PN Pudur branch of Pasumai Pharmacy.

Three eye specialists from Lotus Eye Hospital, RS Puram performed the eye check-up. Dr PJ Jismi said, “Around 10 to 12 ladies came for eye check-up; some were diagnosed with vision problem and asked to wear spectacles.”

Dr Rahul Sarkar, a senior doctor at the eye camp said, “Some patients were diagnosed with cataract and presbyopia. Two patients were advised to get cataract surgery done as the cataract had reached a critical stage.”

He added, “People should get their eyes checked every six months, so that any treatment needed is done at the right time and surgery can be avoided.”

S Sindhiya, branch in-charge of Pasumai Pharmacy said, “As we are celebrating the seventh anniversary of our branch, we came up with the idea of free blood sugar test and free eye camp for the people in this area. We are happy that so many people turned up for the free eye check-up camp; 27 people in total came for the blood sugar test.”
