Kochi: Catholic priest Fr Tom Uzhunalil, who was released by terrorists in Yemen, will visit the Prime Minister and the External Affairs Minister in New Delhi.

He will reach national capital on September 28 morning from Bengaluru where he is to arrive in a few days from Rome.

The priest had been to Rome on being freed with the intervention of the Oman Government. He was kidnapped by a radical Islamic group in Yemen.

A native of Ramapuram in Kottayam, Fr Tom was abducted on March 4, 2016, by Islamic terrorists who killed 16, including an Indian nun, while storming the old age home run by Missionaries of Charity founded by Mother Teresa at Yemen.

Since then there was no news of the priest until last December when he sent a video message expressing anguish over the Church and the Indian government not taking any efforts to rescue him.
