Full-fledged yoga college to be inaugurated on August 20

A full-fledged yoga college is coming up at Tirumurthy Hills in Udumalpet in Tirupur district.
Shri Paranjothi Yoga College, affiliated to Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University, is one among the five colleges sanctioned by the State Government and will be inaugurated on August 20.
The college in a sprawling five-acre land, will offer three-year B.Sc Yoga, two-year M.Sc Yoga, one year Diploma in Yoga UG and Diploma in Yoga PG and six month certificate courses in Yoga, the College Correspondent, S. Sengottuvan told reporters here today.
Stating that there are lot of job opportunities at regional, national level and international levels, particularly in IT firms and corporate houses and also in educational institutions, he said 500 students were expected to enroll for the first batch. “The admission process has begun,” he added.
Since there was dearth in quality yoga teacher, industrialists and businessmen will absorb the students coming out from the college, which is run by a trust comprising many leading industrialists and businessmen, Ponnusamy, Trustee and Treasurer of the trust said.
