Two unidentified persons snatched a three-sovereign gold chain worth Rs 40,000 from a woman near Lakshminagar in Thondamuthur on Monday.
According to police, the complainant Sivaraj, 54, of Kalikanpalayam in Thondamuthur was walking near Lakshminagar when she was accosted by two persons on a two-wheeler who attacked her and snatched her gold chain. When she raised an alarm, the two gagged her and escaped before people reached the site.
A case has been registered with Thondamuthur police and investigation is on, police said.
