GKD Matric emerges champion at Murugappa Kovai Quotient Quiz 2016

Students of GKD Matriculation Higher Secondary School won the first place in the finals of the fourth edition of Murugappa Kovai Quotient Quiz 2016.
The team ‘Not just spectators’, comprising Bragadeeswaran, Hari Krishnan and Sathyanarayanan won the championship, for the third time in a row, facing heavy competition from other five finalists, battling it out for cycles, trophies, medals and various other prizes.
The team ‘Quizzically Impaired’ (comprising Akash Kumar, Muhilan and Siddharth Pratap) from PSBB Millennium, and team ‘Men in Blue’ (comprising Jeevesh, Raghul and Abhineeth from Vidya Niketan Public School) were the runners-up.
A total of 810 students from 70 schools in and around the district participated in the written preliminary round, from which six teams were shortlisted for the Grand Finale.
Members of the audience also won interesting prizes for the various questions asked by the Quizmaster Dr. Navin Jayakumar.
The prizes were distributed by Rajiv Moorthy, CEO of Shanthi Gears Ltd. Organised by the Murugappa Group, the quiz was based on the various aspects of life, nature and history of Coimbatore and its surrounding regions, and on Murugappa Group.
The event was attended, among others, by teachers, parents, quizzing enthusiasts and members of the media.
