Gold ornaments and cash stolen from corporation employee’s house

As many as 8 sovereign gold ornaments and Rs.18,000 in cash was stolen from the house of a corporation worker near Saibaba Colony here on Monday.

According to police, Manikandan (42) was working in the tender department of the Coimbatore Corporation and was living in Saibaba Colon near Mettupalayam Road with his wife and children. He had gone to Nagapattinam for the Pongal vacations with his family.

When the family returned home, Manikandan found his house’s window broken and properties including an LED TV, DVD player, Ipad, 8 sovereign gold ornaments, Rs.18000 in cash, and a silver shrine of Lord Ganapathi missing.

He filed a complaint with the Saibaba Colony police, and investigations are currently on.
