Suggesting that graduates should work to create an impact in the rural areas, Jayadev Galla, the Member of Parliament from Guntur, advised students to contribute in the development of the villages.

Addressing at the Graduation Day of the Kumaraguru College of Technology in Coimbatore on Saturday, Galla said that people must start business endeavours to help the rural society. Adding that students should strive to cultivate their knowledge-base beyond books, he challenged the youth to work in environments outside their comfort zones to achieve in life.

“You should learn to face your fears, meet new persons, and visit new places so that you learn new things,” he said.

Further, Galla opined that one should never be arrogant and think that they know everything, because only a curious and open mind can learn, and added that intellectual arrogance was dangerous.

“It is all about having bigger goals and a vision for your future. Only then can students make good decisions, which is another important factor in life,” said Galla.

As many as 1516 students from 14 UG courses will receive their graduations from the college in the two-day ceremony.
