Half eaten, decomposed body of 2-day old baby found in drainage

A decomposed and half eaten body of a new born child was recovered from a drainage in Kanthal in Ooty on Saturday.
A resident of Kanthal was shocked to notice a dog taking a severed hand, with fingers of the child popping out from its mouth and immediately informed the neighbours and also police.
Police rushed to the spot and on search found the half-eaten body, wrapped in a towel, in the drainage and sent it to the Government Hospital. In appearance the female baby was just two or three days old and
further investigations were on, police said.
