Harrisons Malayalam wins eight awards at Dubai tea competition

Harrisons Malayalam Ltd.–RP Sanjiv Goenka Group won eight awards at the 12th edition of The Golden Leaf India Award (TGLIA)-Southern Tea Competition, held in Dubai.

Joonktollee Tea and Industries Ltd. and United Nilgiri Tea Estates Company Ltd. won five awards each; Hittakkal Group won four; Parry Agro Industries Ltd. and Woodbriar Group won three awards each.

TGLIA convener V. Unnikrishnan, in a press release said that the final tasting session of the competition was held in Dubai to coincide with the 6th Global Dubai Tea Forum 2016, from April 5 to 7.

The 56 shortlisted tea brands that qualified in the first and second level of screening were evaluated by a panel of international jury comprising renowned tasters and major buyers at Dubai yesterday.

The winners were given their prizes and certificates today, on the concluding day of the forum.
