HC orders local bodies’ poll by Nov 17

Chennai Madras High Court on Monday ordered conduct of elections to local bodies in Tamil Nadu before November 17.
The court also ordered the Tamil Nadu State Election Commission to come out with the notification before September 18.
The ruling came on a petition filed by DMK’s R.S.Bharathi to conduct the local body polls at the earliest. The court also ordered that details of criminal cases against candidates should also be uploaded on the website.
