Hero MotoCorp Ltd. is confident that its newly launched scooter, ‘Duet,’ will increase its market share in the segment to 20 percent from the current 14.

According to its Territory Sales Manager Jenner Rajkumar, the company’s 14 percent market share in the scooter segment comes from its 100 CC Pleasure and 110 CC Maestro, which are consistently among the top three best selling scooters in India. “Duet will definitely help pushing the market share up to 20 percent in the first year of its launch,” Rajkumar said, on the sidelines of the launch function.

Hero’s current scooter production capacity is 1.3 million units per year. Hero Centre of Global Innovation and R and D will commence its operations at Jaipur, Rajasthan by the third quarter of 2016. Maestro Edge and Duet (manufactured by indigenous technology), are available all over India.
