Hill stations receive more rainfall

While moderate rains cooled down Coimbatore City on Tuesday, rural areas and hill station continue to receive heavy showers here.

According to a report from the district administration, hill stations, including Valparai, Cincona, and Chinnakallar, received heavy showers. While Chinnakallar received 125 mm rainfall, and Cincona received 110 mm of rainfall, Valparai Taluk Office clocked 102 mm, and another station in the Taluk received 93 mm rains, forcing the authorities to announce holiday on Wednesday.

However, rainfall was minimal in plains, with Pollachi receiving 12 mm, and Mettupalayam, 8 mm.

Meanwhile, Coimbatore South station received 4 mm, and another station at Peelamedu received 1.70 mm. Otherwise other places, including the Tamil Nadu Agriculture University, recorded less than 1 mm rainfall.
