With Tamil Nadu CBCID failing to achieve any major breakthrough in the murder of its spokesperson, C Sasikumar in September last, the Hindu Munnani today sought transfer of the case to CBI.

Sasikumar was killed by a motor-cycle borne four-member gang on the night of September 22, when he was going home, which triggered a communal flare up the next day during his funeral procession.

Protesting against the delay in nabbing the culprits, about 500 workers of Hindu Munnani today staged a demonstration in the city and condemned the tardy progress of the case.

The Munnani Tamil Nadu President, Kadeswara Subramania said that since the CBCID, the investigating agency, failed to achieve any breakthrough, it was high time to transfer the case to CBI.

He alleged that law and order situation in the State was deteriorating, due to administrative lapses, because of factional feuds between the ruling party and its dissident group.
