History-sheeter booked under Goondas Act

The Coimbatore City police have booked a history-sheeter under the Goondas Act after he was again caught in another robbery case in the city earlier in the month.

According to police, B. Sarathkumar from Amman Kulam in Coimbatore was a known history-sheeter and was frequently in and out of prison. He was involved in crimes like chain snatching, house breaking, and robbery in and around Coimbatore city. Cases are still pending in Coimbatore local courts against him.

On 09.03.2016, he was caught again by the police for trying to rob M. Thangadurai near Ramanathapuram at knife point. He was arrested by the police and was remanded in custody.

Due to his continuous involvement in robbery, Commissioner of Police A. Amalraj had directed that he be booked under the Goondas Act. Based on his instructions, the city police have booked him under the Goondas Act and lodged him at the Coimbatore Central Prison.
