Hone your skills to meet demand of global needs, teachers told

Teachers must transform their thoughts into action and should give importance to novel ideas. Faculty members should hone their skills to meet the demands of emerging global needs, said Manpreet Singh Manna, Director, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.

He was addressing a gathering after distributing the P.K. Das Memorial Awards at the Nehru Group of Institutions here on Thursday. The awards are given every year on the birth anniversary of Founder-Chairman of the institutions, P.K. Das.

V. Rajendran, Professor and Director, Research and Development, K.S.R. Educational Institutions in Tiruchengode and S. Karutha Pandian, Professor and Head, Department of Biotechnology at Alagappa University in Karaikudi received the P.K. Das Memorial Life Time Achievement Award, 2016, while 10 faculty members from various Arts and Science Colleges and 11 others from engineering colleges received the Best Faculty award.
