Robbers broke into the house of a ghee trader in Ratnapura of Coimbatore and decamped with 100 sovereigns of gold.

Incidents of breaking and locking houses are on the rise in Coimbatore and suburbs. Residents of the area informed the police that they saw the front locks of two houses being broken into in Saravanampatti area last night. The occupants of the two houses had gone abroad and it was only after their arrival that it became clear how much was looted.

Another similar incident took place in Ratnapura of ​​Coimbatore. Karthik (42) hails from Rajendra Prasad Road, Ratnapura, Coimbatore. The ghee trader had gone to Bangalore with his family ahead of the Pongal holiday. People near his house this morning called Karthik and told him that the front door of his house was broken.

Following this, Karthik lodged a complaint with the Ratnapura police over the phone. Ratnapura police are investigating the incident. Karthik told police over the phone that he had more than 100 sovereigns of gold jewellery in the house. The police said that it would be known only after Karthik came in person whether all the jewellery in the house had been stolen or any other items had been stolen. The public has been shocked by the ongoing looting incidents in Coimbatore.
