Inculcate high degree of safety consciousness, IAF personnel told

COIMBATORE: Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Air Command Air Marshal Rakesh Kumar Singh on Tuesday reiterated the need for all personnel in the Command to inculcate a high degree of safety consciousness and professionalism.

In his address to the Air Command Annual Aerospace Council meeting held at Air Force station, Sulur, Bhadauria urged the personnel to work proactively towards reduction of incidents, identify potential areas that can lead to accidents and take preventive measures on time.

The meeting was an excellent forum for exchange of information, ideas to enhance flight safety, progress in safety initiatives of various aircraft fleets, results of recent accident investigations, maintenance policies and procurement of new safety equipment, an official release said here.

In depth discussions and lectures were conducted covering flight safety aspects of fleet in the region and important issues like the ‘Human Factor Analysis and Classification System and Flight Tracking systems for enhancing safety in Maritime Operations.

Director-General (inspection and Safety) Air Marshal S. Harpal Singh exhorted all personnel to be extra vigilant in all flying operations and work towards reducing accidents.

Senior Air Officers of HQ Southern Air Command, attended the event along with a host of officers from bases in the Command and Senior dignitaries from all the three services and agencies associated with aviation also participated.
