COIMBATORE: The recent rape of two minor girls in Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh has shamed India as a nation, Manitaneya Makkal Katchi President M.H. Jawahirulla said on Saturday.

Talking to reporters here, Jawahirulla alleged the involvement of those belonging to Sangh Parivar and BJP, due to which the nation had to bow its head with shame.

“Condemning this the party will hold protest demonstration across Tamil Nadu tomorrow,” he said.

He said that the party had submitted a petition to the City Police Commissioner seeking the release of a life term convict Abuthahir, suffering from renal failure.

Stating that four life term convicts had lost their lives in the central jail here, he said the Government had not released any prisoners who had completed 10 years in the jail as part of Centenary of Former Chief Minister M.G. Ramachandran, as announced.
