“Indian government should make necessary safety reforms at workplaces so as to avert industrial accidents,” J.C. Sekar, CEO and Co-founder of AcuiZen Technologies Singapore, said.

Addressing the gathering at the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Coimbatore on ‘Workplace Health and Safety – Insights from Singapore,’ Sekar said that risk assessment at workplace is a major necessity in India.

Commenting that unhealthy workplace creates unhealthy workers, Sekar also pointed out a study report that said that most fatalities occur because of illness caused by unhealthy workplaces. He also added that the workers can work well only if they are taken good care of.

“Workplace safety should be ensured right from the designing of the workplace,” he opined.

Talking about the Cost Compromise Factor while designing a site, Sekar claimed that safety measures are long-term investments that cannot be compromised with.
