Industry team to meet CM on GST

An industrial delegation will be taken to Chennai tomorrow to meet Chief Minister Edapadi Palanisamy for presenting proposals on fixing GST slabs, Minister for Municipal Administration S P Velumani said today.
With the State leading in the manufacturing sector, industries had expressed concern over the proposed GST rates for various products, and wanted a lower one fixed.
He told mediapersons that the he had discussed the issue with them recently and assured them that a delegation would meet the Chief Minister tomorrow.
Finance Minister D Jayakumar would put present the proposals during the GST Council meeting in Delhi on June 3, Velumani added.
