Injured deer treated, released into forest

A three-year-old male spotted deer was found injured near Poochiyur in the Periyanaickenpalayam range of the Coimbatore Forest Division on Wednesday morning.

Based on information from the public, a team of forest department personnel rushed to rescue the animal.

Periyanaickenpalayam Forest Range Officer, Palaniraja said the deer was treated at the veterinary hospital in Periyanaickenpalayam and later released near the foothills of Kurudi Malai forest in the district.
