IT raids on refinery premises

Income Tax authorities on Wednesday carried out searches on the business premises of Kaleesuwari Refinery Private Limited, following charges related to tax evasion.
The refinery produces popular cooking oil brand Gold Winner Sunflower oil and Eldia pure coconut oil.
IT sources said officials also conducted searches at more than 30 locations that were linked with the oil company. The raids began simultaneously from 7 am after complaints of alleged tax evasion over the last five years.
Officials were verifying the company’s computer systems, balance sheet, sales receipts and other expenditure registers. CRPF personnel were deployed near the company premises.
