Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa has congratulated Hillary Rodham Clinton for becoming the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate.

In her message to the Democratic presidential candidate for the 2016 elections, Jayalalithaa said that it was a matter of pride for women all over the world, especially those in politics, that Ms. Clinton had become the first female presidential candidate of the United States of America.

Wishing her success in the presidential elections, Jayalalithaa said that Ms. Clinton will continue to be “a rolemodel for women across the world.” She also recalled her meeting with Ms. Clinton in July 2011, where they discussed various issues.
