Jayaraman elected UPASI President

T. Jayaraman was elected President of United Planters Association of Southern India (UPASI) for the year 2017-18. at its 124th Annual General Meeting at Coonoor on Thursday.

Jayaraman is an Agricultural Graduate and runs a family business of cultivation and manufacturing of tea with an experience of 38 years. He has occupied various positions such as Chairman of the Nilgiri Planters’ Association and Planters’ Association of Tamil Nadu.

A.E. Joseph was elected Vice-President for one year term, a UPASI release said.

A mechanical engineering graduate, Joseph is Managing Partner of Alampally Estate, Pasuppara, Idukki District, Kerala.

He has served as Chairman of Central Travancore Planters Association, Association of Planters of Kerala and Tea Trade Association of Cochin, it said.
