Karunya University today opened its third campus at Periyanaickenpalayam on the outskirts.

The new campus will house students aspiring to pursue Arts, Science, Humanities, Law and Paramedical programs and the varsity plans to revolve around transforming the area around Mathampalayam over the next five years to provide new and enhanced facilities for students, Karunya Education and Research Trust COO Dr. M.J. Xavier said at the inauguration.

The campus will cater to the emerging needs of students in arts, sciences, commerce, law, media, design, liberal arts and health sciences.

“We are starting innovative courses, such as cyber security and digital forensics. Apart from students across the country, this would cater to students from Coimbatore, Mettupalayam, Conoor, Kothagiri and Ooty,” Xavier said.

“The strategy includes exciting initiatives to ensure all our students receive the very best educational experience. Graduates of the future need to be ready for anything; they need to be multi-skilled, resilient and adaptable, able to work across disciplinary and geographical borders,” University Vice-Chancellor Dr. S. Sundar Manoharan said.

University Chancellor, Dr. Paul Dhinakaran said that this will be a venue for innovation, engagement and entrepreneurship that will be completely integrated with the real world. “We are working with corporate partners to develop this vision, we will be offering tailored masters programs co-created with industrial partners and looking to develop research, with the ambition that Karunya will be known internationally,” he said.
