KCT wins second prize at ATV championships

Team Blitzkrieg of Kumaraguru College of Technology (KCT), Coimbatore, has won the overall second prize in the Mega ATV (All Terrain Vehicle) Championship 2016 held in Odisha from March 4 to 7.

The team also won the Flood Simulation event, organised by Auto Sports India in collaboration with the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India at Bhubaneswar.

Mega ATV Championship is an off-terrain ATV/Dune Buggy/Mini BAJA racing competition based on real life challenges. It is an engineering design, manufacturing, racing, and utility-based competition in which participant teams have to design and make an ATV and use it. 56 teams of more than 1500 engineering students participated in the event.

The KCT team consisted of 25 students of the Automobile and Mechanical Engineering departments. The team was led by R. Giridharan, a third year Automobile Engineering student.

The team won the Flood Simulation contest, clocking the least time, driven by B. Ashwin, a final year Automobile Engineering student. Last year, the team had won the Best Safe Vehicle award at the SAEINDIA BAJA event held in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh.
