A landslide that had occurred late yesterday night in Kerala has brought traffic to and from the state to a halt in Ooty . Hundreds of vehicles are lined up near Keel Nadugani, on the Tamil Nadu-Kerala border.

It was only in the morning that the landslide was noticed. The chunk of land, measuring about 1 kilometre, was dislodged and washed away due to constant rains in the area. It was worsened by the region’s mining activities.

Personnel from the National Highway authorities and other departments were involved in clearing the roads.
