KVB-Rotary launches 4 low-cost dialysis centres inaugurated

Coimbatore : Karur Vysya Bank on Monday joined hands with Rotary Foundation to set up low-cost dialysis facility at four centres in Tamil Nadu.

The facilities will be set up a Theni, Dindigul, Tiruchirapally and Karur and KVB has contributed Rs 1.2 crore for setting up two such centres as part of itscorporate social responsibility. with a matching contribution from Rotary.

The Karur facility was inaugurated by MD and CEO of the bank PR Seshadri at Abirami Maternity Centre in the presence of C. Basker, Director Rotary International director C Basker and Karur Joint Director of Medical and Rural Health Services Dr M Vijayakumar, a bank statement said.

The bank was committed to give back to society to improve the quality of life of the people. A good portion of such work was undertaken at Karur itself, Seshadri said. Rotarian Gopalakrishnan said that understanding the difficulties faced by patients suffering from kidney ailments, RI District 3000 and 5340 decided to set up and maintain low cost dialysis centres where the cost would be 60 to 70 per cent lower than that at private dialysis centres.

As many as 240 patients were likely to benefit from these four centres, he added.
