Labourer arrested for abduction and rape of minor girl

A daily wage worker was arrested today on charges of abducting and sexually assaulting a minor girl near Mettupalayam.
The mother of the 16-year-old girl, residing in Nellithurai, filed a complaint with the Thudiyalur police that, Lakshman, the labourer had moved into the neighbourhood, along with his pregnant wife. The mother said that he had abducted her 16-year-old daughter two days ago and sexually assaulted her.
Based on the complaint, the police arrested Lakshman for sexually assaulting and threatening the minor of dire consequences. Investigations are currently on.
