With summer heat already ablaze, the Tamil Nadu government has issued orders that traffic police be given refreshment drinks during their day shifts.

Traffic cops, who stand in the blistering heat, are often found quenching their thirst with water from nearby restaurants or halters. To help them beat the torrid heat, the state government has decided to provide lemonade to the traffic personnel during the day time. The scheme will be inaugurated today (Sunday) in Coimbatore by the Commissioner of Police A. Amalraj.

In a press release, the city police have said that lemonades will be distributed to all the cops who are involved in traffic regulation until the end of summer.
