Man dies after falling in rail track

A 57-year-old man died, as he fell in between the train and the platform while getting on the train at the city railway station today.

The deceased, identified as Balakrishnan of Udhagamandalam in Nilgiris district, was trying to enter the Kovai Express, while it was coming in to the second platform, police said.

Based on the complaint by the station superintendent, the police registered a case and informed the wife of deceased, Savithri. The body is in the mortuary.
