Man gets life sentence for killing paramour

The Coimbatore Mahila Court today sentenced a man to undergo life imprisonment for strangling his paramour to death, three years ago.

36-year-old Nilamani, a power loom worker in Karumathampatti, in the rural limits, had illicit affair with another worker, Krishnasamy.

Krishnasamy, in his late 30s became suspicious when Nilamani began talking to other persons. There were frequent fights over the issue. On March 3, 2013, he took Nilamani to the deserted place where they used to meet regularly, and strangled her to death with her sari.

After investigations, the police arrested Krishnasamy. The case was being heard by the Mahila Court here. Judge G. Raja awarded life sentence to Krishnasamy and a fine of Rs.6000.
