Man kills son-in-law after quarrel

Coimbatore: A 55-year-old man killed his son-in-law over family dispute near Ganapathy in the city on Sunday.

The victim, Gunavel (32) of the city was working in a private company in Bengaluru. He was married to Saradha, daughter of Thiyagarajan, a painter in Ganapathy. The couple has a son Ashwanth (3).

Gunavel used to visit his wife and son once in three months. He would quarrel with Saradha whenever he came home. Recently, he had a dispute with his wife and beat her up and she complained to her father.

Thiyagarajan went to Gunavel’s house in police quarters and a brawl followed. He lost his temper and attacked his son-in-law with a knife and fled the scene.

Saravanampatty police registered a case and are in search of Thiyagarajan.
