Man with two kilos of gold chains held

A young man from Kerala was taken into custody for possessing over more than two kilos of gold chains without proper documents and bills.

Railway Police noticed the youth, identified as Joffy from Koorkanchery, near Thrissur, and on search, found large number of gold chains in his bag last evening, police said.

During the course of investigation, he had allegedly told the cops that he had taken the chains from a jeweller in Coimbatore to deliver at a leading jewellery in Ernakulam in Kerala. The ornaments weighed about 2.195 kilos and as there was no proper document.

Joffy was handed over to Commercial Tax Office (Enforcement), Roving Squad. Further investigations are on.
