The second edition of the Kundha Colony Sports Association (KCSA) was flagged off from Karamadai this morning. Inspired by the response to last year’s debut marathon, this year, the organizers conducted the marathons in three categories – five kilometre, 10 kilometre, and 21 kilometre run.

“We had about 750 participants. 83-year-old L. Deveraj was the oldest of them all. He successfully completed the 10 kilometre run. A lot of students participated in the five kilometre run. All of them ran for a cause – to spread awareness about neurological diseases,” P. Saravanan, Secretary of KCSA, said. All the marathons were flagged off from the Vidhya Vikas Matriculation Higher Secondary School.

In order to spread the awareness about neurological diseases, volunteers of KCSA distributed flyers and pamphlets containing information about various nerve-related diseases, to the general public. Volunteers also visited Karamadai, interacted with the residents and educated them about neurological diseases and disorders.
