Mary statue in Ooty church desecrated

Ooty : Tension prevailed in this tourist town, when a statue of Mary in St Jude Church in Elk Hill found desecrated early on Saturday.
Some passersby noticed the statue without head portion and informed police, who rushed to the spot.
CCTV footage in the area revealed a person entering the church premises through back side and vandalising the statue, police said.
