Masked men loot courier firm, escape with 9 lakh cash

Two masked men robbed Rs. 9 lakh from a private courier office, after threatening the supervisor at a knife point in the city around midnight yesterday.

According to police, Nishad, the supervisor of the company on the bypass road, was verifying the accounts and parcels, when two masked men entered the office around 11 p.m. When Nishad asked them to get out of the office, they took out a knife and tied him to a chair and took away the money from the cash box.

The duo also ensured that the cable connecting the CCTV was snapped. They two escaped with the camera and hard disk attached to it.

Freeing himself after some time, Nishad lodged a complaint with police, who rushed to the spot with finger print experts and sniffer dogs.Further investigations are on.
