The Government-sponsored mega private job fair to be held at Sri Krishna Institutions here on Sunday is expected to witness over one lakh footfalls.

Over 500 corporate houses, large firms from Chennai and other districts of Tamil Nadu, besides over 20,000 small industries will look to recruit candidates and issue on-the-spot appointment orders at the fair, official sources said.

Over one lakh applications have already been distributed and the candidates who have passed Class VIII, Diploma and ITI course, graduates and post-graduates, will be attending.

Tamil Nadu Municipal Administration Minister, S.P. Velumani is monitoring the arrangements for the fair. The Minister, along with District Collector, Archana Patnaik and Police Commissioner, A. Amalraj, and senior officials visited the venue.

Traffic will be regulated on Palakkad Main Road, considering the large number of candidates and vehicles, police said.
